On 24 August 2026, within the framework of the YALA (BSB01271) project, Project Expert Shalva Chkadua held a working meeting with the Telavi Municipal Youth Advisory Council.

During the meeting, the expert delivered a presentation entitled “Youth Voice for Local Decisions: Theoretical Framework, Legal Opportunities and Action Plan.” The presentation focused on practical mechanisms for youth participation, ways of influencing local decision-making, legal opportunities for civic participation, and approaches for transforming youth initiatives into formal proposals and tangible results.

Particular attention was given to placing youth issues on the municipal agenda, developing well-structured proposals, using appropriate formal participation channels, and publicly monitoring the results. Participants also discussed the identification of concrete youth-related challenges and the planning of future activities.

The meeting aimed to strengthen the capacity of the Youth Advisory Council and promote more effective youth participation in local decision-making processes.
