Capacity Building Workshop Held at Mendel University within the GastroTour Project

From 3 to 6 May 2026, a Capacity Building Workshop was held at Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic, within the framework of the third Work Package (WP3) of the Erasmus+ project “GastroTour.” The project is coordinated by Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, which actively leads the implementation process and international cooperation among partner institutions.

The workshop brought together representatives of partner universities and organizations participating in the project. The programme included both academic and practical sessions focusing on modern teaching methods in gastronomy tourism, the development of learning packages, and the introduction of innovative educational approaches.

During the workshop, Tamar Aslanishvili, representative of Telavi State University, delivered several important sessions, including presentations on the current state of the learning packages, planning of future project activities, and the project progress report. Particular attention was paid to project management and coordination issues, which were jointly discussed by the partners. The participants reviewed ongoing activities, planned the next stages of implementation, and defined coordination mechanisms among partner institutions.

The event programme also included thematic workshops, round-table discussions, educational tours, and practical activities aimed at strengthening skills and promoting innovation in the field of gastronomy tourism. Participants visited South Moravian wine tourism routes, UNESCO heritage sites, and the Czech Wine Salon, where they explored integrated models of tourism and cultural heritage development.

The meeting served as an important platform for partner institutions to exchange experience and strengthen international cooperation in the field of gastronomy tourism.
